GOLF NUTRITION... How can supplements support my golf game?

Making improvements to nutrition can often seem like the last thing on a golfer’s mind, yet getting nutrition right will ensure you perform at your peak on the course. Therefore, we're going to take a look at some simple tweaks to help protect your joints, boost your performance & help your concentration & energy levels for a day on the course.

What will perfecting your nutrition for golf do for you?

A good rule to stick to as a minimum is to eat something every 9 holes, as well as before you start your round. This extra fuel will, of course, give you an energy boost physically, but perhaps more importantly in a game of concentration & technique, it will give you a mental edge too. It doesn't have to be complicated to see results, A sandwich, flapjack, piece of fruit or banana bread would be plently. High protein levels in your diet generally (2g per KG of bodyweight) will allow for better recovery, muscle function & bone health. Pillar 3 is hydration in addition to water, as your water levels should go without saying. This usually comes in the form of electrolytes throughout you round, especially with some golf days lasting 5+ hours.

All of these should be included as a preventative measure, don't wait until you feel hungry, thirsty or fatigued, as that is too late! Combine these with the supplements we are about to go into & watch your performance soar.

Which supplements can aid my golf game?

Golf can be particularly heavy on your joints, which means we need to pay particular attention to Omega3's, Vitamin D3 & protein to maintain healthy joints & a high bone density. The muscular demands of golf also need backing up with protein & electrolytes, & we can add in creatine for muscle & brain function too. Multivitamins are the final supplement I would advise, they act as a great insurance policy for any gaps in your diet. I've written a definitive list for you below.

Our top golfing supplements:

  • Omega 3's

  • Vitamin D3 (especially in winter)

  • Protein

  • Creatine

  • Multivitamins

  • Electrolytes

You can purchase all of the above in our shop, thanks for reading!
